Circa 1800
A most unusual and decorative Papal medallion in 14kt burnished gold metal, depicting a three-tiered crown with pale blue cabochon atop with crossed keys below, a fine miniature painting of Pope Pius VII accompanies the piece which was originally encapsulated in a special holder on the reverse, mounted on cardboard, there is some crackling to the portrait probably due to removal from the frame work, overall attractive and Fine Papal item.
