Art Nouveau Gold, Platinum, Carved Moonstone, Diamond, Pearl and Plique-à-Jour Pendant with Chain, Louis Aucoc, France
18 kt., the pendant-necklace centers a serene carved moonstone female face surrounded by flowing tendrils of gold hair against the backdrop of multicolored plique-à-jour enamel dragonfly wings, topped by a spray composed of 5 pearl-topped, knife-edged platinum-topped gold & diamonds lead up to a diamond-set foliate top all backed by a scalloped gold floral detailed arch. The bottom suspending 3 platinum-topped gold & diamond-set drops, completed by a gold cable link chain with a gold, platinum & diamond female figural slide pendant, 47 old European, single & rose-cut diamonds,with maker's mark & French assay mark, c., 1895, ap. 34 dwts. Length 22 inches.
A similar pendant was sold at Sotheby's, lot 359 on April 14th, 2011. It was sold without the chain & slide.

Moonstone: overall in good condition, small nick to the left of her upper and lower lip
Enamel light green, blue, red to orange colors, light loss and cracking, overall in good condition
Pearls: creamy white color, excellent luster, well matched
Overall in good condition, surface scratches and discoloration/tarnish to metal, normal wear for age.
With a later safety clasp on original pin fitting.
