Publisher's cloth gilt. 8 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches; [viii], 144 pp.; interleaved with mounted original gelatin silver prints throughout, identified with manuscript captions. Boards stained, staining continuing at first and last few leaves, pages a bit wavy, occasional soiling.
Inscribed "Eveline from Father Xmas /52", presumably by the author to his daughter Eveline Mary Mardon, on the front free endpaper. The photographs are captioned in blue ink in the author's hand. The author was the principle partner at the publishing house where this book was printed, likely in a very limited run. Mardon, Son and Hall was primarily known as printers of playing cards.
