Ostego, MI: The Ostego Union, 1940. First edition, signed by the author on the upper wrapper. Staple-bound in original printed wrappers. 56 pp., appendix, plates after photographs, a few hand-corrections, possibly by the author. Wrappers toned and with a few creases and the signature a trifle faded, covers loose exposing staples at gutter, sound overall.
A scarce Alaska big game hunting narrative from Dr. G. Scott Towne, a prominent resident of Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The cover illustration depicts the camp at Kodiak Island, others the Alaska landscape and several depict grizzly bears. We trace no copy at auction.
