Lot Details

Lot 1013
German Local Issue from 1945
Extensive and valuable collection of these interesting issues, created as a result of the withdrawal of German Reich stamps. Commencing with a strong group of Soviet zone Bezerk overprints some of which bear a variety of guarantee handstamps, other highlights includes Birkenfeld on cover, Cottbus reconstruction series mint, Dobei, Fredersdorf Michel 261-267used, hand stamped and with letter from Heinz Strum, Lobau obliteration series to 5 m each on piece with Dr. Dub handstamp, Soviet zone Meiben with mint, used and cover combinations including Michel 35-38 imperforate on separate covers, Perlrberg presentation sheetlets, unofficial issues of Oldenburg, Robein, Storkow, Strausberg, Wittenberg, Rhodes Weihnachten1944 overprint on cover, Fine to Very Fine. A fascinating offering of mint, used, covers, and souvenir sheets, most issues are considered spurious and a personal examination is suggested as there are no guarantees with this lot even though many bear reputable handstamps.
