Russian Silver-Gilt and Niello Salt Throne
Ovchinnikov, Moscow, 1888
Of traditional form, on bracket feet, the trapezoidal back centering a pierced roundel within a serrated border, on a tapering base chased with geometric and pan-Slavic borders, the hinged seat nielloed with scrolling foliage. Height 3 1/4 inches (8.3 cm).
