Lot Details

Lot 6
ALLAN, P.B.M. Trout Heresy.
[London:] Philip Allan, 1936. One of 12 copies printed on fine paper, inscribed to H.D. Turing, with an autograph letter signed to the same. Authorial signature. Green cloth in dust-jacket. 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches; 206 pp. A few small losses to jacket, some very pale and occasional foxing, in all a very nice copy indeed.
A rare work in this form, addressing such questions as "Can trout think?" and "Are all flies alike to the trout?" These questions do not seem to have prevented Mr. Allan from being an ardent fisherman.
