London: printed for Tho. Basset, at the George in Fleet-street; Will. Hensman and Tho. Fox, in Westminster-Hall, 1689. First edition, the "Hensman" issue with pp. 782 and 783 correctly numbered. 19th century full calf, all edges yellow. 7 x 4 1/2 inches (18 x 11.5 cm); [8], 688, 669-680, 781-784, 715-729, [1] pp. Generally a sound copy, internally quite clean.
Cotton, Walton's friend and co-author of the Compleat Angler, was a prolific poet. His poem The Retirement, addressed to Walton, appears on pp. 133-9. Pforzheimer 221; ESTC R20907.
