CRAWFORD, JOAN Group of seven typed letters signed "Joan" and one signed card to Aileen Mehle.
N.p.: 1960-1973. Short typed letters signed "Joan" in blue ink on various personal stationery, a few original envelopes present, the signed card a Christmas greeting written in manuscript in red ink. The letters toned or spotted, one worn, with usual folds and signs of handling.
This group of letters from Joan Crawford are variously addressed "Aileen dear" or "Suzy darling" and include the following sentiment from 1964: "you too can be wonderful and not vicious. You know where I think your magic comes from, Suzy? I think from still believing in people, from having faith in the joy of living every moment. It shows in your work. I'm so proud that I know you."
