Pair of Regency 12 1/2 Inch Terrestrial and Celestial Globes
The terrestrial globe by George & John Cary, dated January 4, 1827, the celestial globe by G & J Cary, dated January 1, 1816
Each on a stand with tapering reeded legs joined by ring turned X-form stretchers. Heights overall 18 inches (45.7), diameter of stands 17 inches (43.2 cm).

Overall good condition, with usual craquelure, crazing, cracks, wear and losses, yellowing in varnish to both globes;
Terrestrial: repaired breaks and inpainting to South Pole, repaired break from N Pole through Canada and along the East coast and West Coast of South America, chips; globe stands with old marks and scratches, separations to papers of horizon ring cover and inpainting to losses
Celestial: overall good condition with minor repaired breaks with inpainting to both poles, small areas of repairs scattered throughout, chips to edges of horizon ring with age cracks along lines of construction; globe stands with old marks and scratches,
