These sketches are closely related to an ink drawing by Stothard in the Victoria & Albert Museum (DYCE 828) showing Hector and Andromache with their son, Astyanax, and his nurse.

Laid to the mount. The sheet is toned slightly from exposure to light in a previous framing, leaving a pale contour band along the edges. T here is a horizontal fold funing acrsoss the sheet 2 inches below the upper margin, along which there is creasing.
