The pierced galleried oval top with an inset trompe l'oeil panel depicting playing cards, butterflies, calling cards, etc., centered by a putto, the palm tree form standard on a triangular plinth, raised on paw feet. Height 29 1/2 inches (74.9 cm), width 21 3/4 inches (55.2 cm), depth 15 5/8 inches (39.5 cm).

Overall very good restored condition, top and bottom associated, gouache painting to top in overall fair condition, with waterstains, rippling and minor tears, fascinating subject matter to top with both English and French inscriptions, including musical manuscript reading God save the king/Marys dream and why is a bad wife better than ones own, minor chips and losses to base, base completely redecorated
