Tibetan Parcel-Gilt Silver Traveling Shrine, 'Gau'
The hollow metal alloy box of trefoil form fronted by a gilt border surrounding dense filigree above rockwork and waves, enclosing ten deities, all encircling the central shaped aperture depicting two confronting dragons and mythical creatures, all on a ground of scrolling foliage, the reverse with a stylized character and flanked by two horizontal loops handles on each side wall intended for suspension. Height 8 7/8 inches.
