Additional Notes & Condition Report

The basket of flowers marquetry design appears to be a later alteration or substitution to the original motif, it appears this alteration was done a long time; There are some veneer losses to the top as well as staining and discoloration; the push button mechanism appears to be loose but in working condition; the hinges appear to have been replaced; retains original BREVETE "lock" plate; appears to retain original tufted interior; the table is a little rickety; appears to retain its original mounts, however, of the three mounts at the top of the legs two are grasshoppers and one has a floral theme with a bumble (at the rear) perhaps suggesting it is a later addition, the cold painting to each mount appears consistent and may indicate it's an original mount; it appears that a central portion of one floral mount at the base is missing; one of the turtles at the ovolo base has its' back pushed in; the table top is slightly warped i.e. it doesn't sit entirely flush with the case below; the table now lacks its original rope cords; a large triangle portion of the veneer on the center of the platform base has been replaced; typical scuffing, light splitting, nicks and abrasions to the wood elements
