Military Bond Request with Abraham Lincoln Note
Bond request from the Quartermaster General's Office, Washington, D.C. Oct. 31st 1864 Bond for the due execution of the duties of any office, One Dollar ($1.00) with request to forward bond to this office and report to the Quartermaster General, signed By Order of the Q.M. Genl, Geo. V. Rutherford, Col. Q.M. Dept. Additional script on lower portion of the letter notes Capt. Jacob A. Shindel, A.G. Vols, Care Mrs. E.C. Hutter, some folding tears are evident at the outer edge.
In addition and on the reverse of part printed Guaranty note is a directive from President Lincoln, reading as follows Submitted to the Quarter Master Genl. signed A. Lincoln and dated Nov. 4, 1864, Very Fine and bold signature.
