Faint stamp, remnant of former binding to spine, ink numbering to verso of title. Sabin 42446; Together with Message from the President ... at the Commencement of the Second Session of the Fifteenth Congress [Bound with:] Message from the President ... transmitting copies of the remainder of documents ... Washington: De Krafft, 1818. 20th century cloth. Two works in one. 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches (21 x 11.5 cm); 167; 147 pp., 6 folding tables in the second work. This work contains a general message from Monroe followed by copies of documents mainly of South American interest. The title stamped and punctured, ink notations to verso, light spotting; And a bound volume of speeches regarding the election of the President, 1826, without a general title, the first leaf bearing the signature "J.A. Monroe" which closely resembles that of James Monroe but this format unknown, 20th century cloth, the volume containing approximately twelve speeches each with its own pagination, the first being Speech of Mr. McDuffie, on the proposed amendment to the Constitution ... Respecting the election of President and Vice President ... In the House of Representatives, Feb. 15, 16, 1826. [Washington: Gales & Seaton, 1826], many of the individual speeches listed by Sabin. Stamp affecting signature, dampstains, endpaper detached. The lot three volumes.
