A mixed media on panel depiction of The Crucifixion with the Virgin, Saint John and Mary Magdalene in the manner of Spinello Aretino estimated at $2,000-4,000 achieved a surprisingly strong $25,000. The selection of Old Master drawings featured an 18th century Italian School design for a frieze depicting a Battle of Lapiths and Centaurs from the Estate of William Crawford, III, that sold for $22,500 almost ten-times its estimate of $2,000-3,000.

Highlighting the decorations in the sale was a pair of Charles X gilt and patinated-bronze five-light candelabra dating to the second quarter of the 19th century and measuring 33 3/4 inches in height. Consigned by the Estate of Kathleen Parker, the candelabra achieved $13,750, far surpassing their estimate of $2,000-3,000. Furniture in the sale featured a handsome circa 1760 George III mahogany open armchair that sold for $10,625, exceeding its estmate of $6,000-8,000.

With competitive international bidding from the salesroom, the telephones and the Internet, the sale totaled $1,509,625, surpassing its estimate of $934,700-1,487,600 with an exceptional 89% sold by lot and 96% sold by value.
