Pair of George III Mahogany Library Armchairs
In the manner of Paul Saunders, circa 1760
Each arched needlework upholstered back and seat flanked by acanthus leaves and shell carved padded arm rests with fluted acanthus supports, the leaf carved seat rail raised on fluted cabriole legs decorated with acanthus leaves at the knees and ending in scrolling toes.

Formerly on casters. Overall good restored condition. Later corner blocks. Framing upholstered and not examined. Age cracks to tops of legs. Minor chips and losses to frame. Loss to scrolled to front right leg of one. Back left scroll toe to same chair replaced. Repairs to other scroll toes. Old marks and scratches, rubbing and wear.
