Long forgotten treasures will be rediscovered at Doyle New York’s Attic Treasures sale on Wednesday, April 5, 2011 at 10am. Imagine a vast attic filled with wonders -- antique toys, trains, wagons, dolls, furniture, ceramics and collectibles from bygone era. The Attic Treasures auction will be bursting with exciting property for seasoned collectors and new bidders alike.

Pedal Cars

Highlighting the sale are a group of vintage pedal cars. These include a Ferrari painted steel racing pedal car from Giordani, Italy, circa 1955 (est. $1,000-1,500); an Apperson green and yellow painted metal pedal car by the American National Co., circa 1920 (est. $800-1,200); an Oldsmobile green and red painted metal pedal car, circa 1920 (est. $800-1,200); and a red painted metal pedal car by the Gendron Wheel Co., circa 1920 (est. $800-1,200).

Slot/poker/vending Machines

Certain to attract attention are a painted metal and wood twenty-five cent slot machine and a painted metal and wood five cent slot machine (est. each $800-1,000), as well as a Mills stained wood and metal nickel poker machine, circa 1920 (est. $400-600). Also noteworthy is a painted metal Coca-Cola ten cent vending machine (est.$600-800).

Trains

Among the selection of vintage trains is a group of Lionel post-War trains and rolling stock (est. $300-400); a Lionel pre-War standard gauge group (est. $300-400) and a painted iron steam locomotive and coal tender, circa 1930 (est. $200-400). A rarity to be offered is a Buddy L. outdoor group comprising a steam shovel, sand loader, locomotive wrecking crane, tender, and Caboose # 3017, Freight Car # 35407 (est. $400-800).

Canes

Collectors of antique and vintage canes will be interested in the three group lots to be offered bearing estimates ranging from $300-1,500.

Americana

The sale will offer a number of lots of Americana featuring a large American Flag, circa 1877-1890, with 38 stars, height 11 feet 6 inches, width 20 feet (est. $800-1,200). An American painted wood cigar store Indian measures 6 feet 2 inches in height (est. $600-800).

Children's Books

Among the children’s books is a group lot of Father Goose material by L. Frank Baum and W.W. Denslow (est. $500-800) and several group lots of The Wizard of Oz material (est. range $250-800).

Toys

Toys are highlighted by a group lot of approx. 17 Steiff stuffed animals (est. $800-1,200), a group of approx. 23 vintage plastic wind-up and battery operated toy animals and figures (est. $600-900), and a selection of painted iron toys, including a lot of two horse drawn circus wagons, circa 1930, one Kenton Overland (est. $400-600) and a horse drawn fire tanker (est. $250-350).

Wagons

Appealing to children of all ages are wagons of various sizes and vintages, including a Bager Farm Wagon green painted wood wagon, circa 1910 (est. $300-500), a late 19th century green painted farm wagon (est. $200-400), a Lone Eagle painted wood wagon, circa 1940 (est. $200-400), and an Express painted wood wagon, circa 1900 (est. $200-400). For snowy trips to grandmother’s house is an early 20th century American painted wood sled (est. $200-300) and a set of horse’s sleigh bells (est. $100-200).  

Diminutive Furniture

Diminutive furniture features a Victorian mahogany three-piece child's parlor suite (est. $250-450), an American pine diminutive hutch (est. $250-450), and a group of three diminutive dressers (est. $100-200).

Louis Vuitton

No attic sale would be complete without vintage trunks and suitcases. By Louis Vuitton are a group of four suitcases (est. $2,000-3,000) and a trunk (est. $800-1,200).
