each piece was carefully examined; each piece appears to be in very good, undamaged condition; no rim chips were observed; no hairline cracks or stain discoloration was observed; no knife scratch marks to the plate centers was observed on the dinner or salad plates; no loss to gilding was observed, however, some of the gilt bands exhibit patches or more extensive areas where the gilding has changed color to a coppery red-orange tone; other gilt bands or other parts of the gilt bands appear to be as originally made/intended, i.e., normal gold tone
