BARDON, DANDRE. Costume des Anciens Peuples, a l'Usage des Artistes. Paris: Alexandre Jombert jeune,1784, 1785. Second edition, two parts in one volume out of a total of 4 parts. Contemporary mottled calf, spine gilt, red and green leather spine labels, all edges stained red, marbled endpapers. 11 x 8 inches (28 x 20.5 cm); Part I: [4], 32 pp., with 97 engraved plates numbered 1-78, 80-98, Part II: [2], 40 pp., with 95 engraved plates numbered 1-95. Wear to calf mostly at edges and spine, spine ends chipped and torn, joints a bit weak but sound, hinges starting, contents with occasional spots, toning, and dampstaining, incomplete--lacking one plate and the third and fourth parts.
