Base: appears to be in generally good condition; the four light sockets have a patent date of 1907 and appear to be original; the light sockets are activated by pull chains rather than typical on/off Perkins or Bryant or GE plastic switches; uniform wear and dulling to patinated surfaces; there is no present means by which to display or illuminate a dome shade on this base; there is no ring mount for example, a corn shaped finial is probably not original, has been rewired; the underside does not have a base plate nor should it have one based on the design; underside has a "rough" or unfinished appearance
shade: lead or solder remnants around the top interior rim edge indicate this likely was originally used as a hanging shade; shade is essentially in the round; there is a fracture to one side of the shade with cracks to two of its adjacent glass segments and the leading or caming is now lifting away; it appears at least four of the original glass geometric segments have been replaced based on the colors of the glass as contrasted with other segments; cracks and restorations to some of the other glass segments; there is a wire band that surrounds the interior bottom rim and this wire has become detached on one side; uniform dulling to patina on leading/ caming
