NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle's May 5, 2026 sale of Property from a Prominent Maryland Collection attracted competitive bidding that drove exceptional results and a sale total that surpassed expectations. This wide ranging collection comprised American and English furniture, artwork, silver, samplers, rugs, ceramics, glass, luxury handbags and much more.

Highlighting the sale was an exquisite silk Tabriz carpet from northwest Persia that more than doubled its estimate of $10,000-20,000 to achieve a stunning $54,400. Dating to the last quarter of the 19th century and in exceptional condition, the 11' x 7' 10" rug featured an extraordinary knot-per-inch count of 374 and was decorated with numerous inscriptions in arabic, plus it bore the distinguished provenance of Winterthur, ex-collection C. K. Davis.
