The board support is reinforced with thin wooden panels. It remains in sound condition, with no evidence of bowing, cracking, or splitting.

There is visible wear along all four edges, including abrasions, staining, and minor pigment losses. These issues are largely obscured by the frame and do not significantly detract from the overall presentation.

A small area of inpainting is located at the center of the upper horizontal edge to address frame abrasion.

A fine network of craquelure is visible across the entire surface. Drying cracks are present, particularly concentrated in areas of heavier impasto, most noticeably in the sails. There are scattered flake losses, primarily located in the upper left quadrant, within the sky.
