Modeled seated on a rockwork base, the left knee raised supporting the hands, holding a scroll, dressed in long flowing robes incised with ruyi-form clouds and hemmed with foliate borders, the face with a serene expression below a high chignon draped over by a cowl, the mottled stone a buff color with areas of warm russet and golden brown inclusions. Height 5 3/8 inches.

Gilt and pigment wear. Small chip to edge of cowl and to edge of cloak over shoulder. Small chip to back side where meets base. May have been re-adhered to base.
