A scarce letter from Stewart during his most prolific period: "I'm very pleased that you enjoyed 'You Can't Take it With You.' Frank Capra did such a grand job of directing with that picture ... of all the able men there are out here, he's my favorite director." He continues referencing the filming of "Ice Follies" (1939) and a Selznick picture (likely Made for Each Other). In the following year, Capra would direct Stewart in his best-known role Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.
