The flattened rounded form carved with raised panels, one side decorated with coral, soapstone and lacquer depicting a beauty seated before a musician playing the qin, the reverse with two figures in a scholar's studio, bordered by lotus scrolling and embellished floral motifs. Height 2 1/8 inches.

Extensive losses to embellishments throughout. Central panels on both sides are in good condition.
