Overall 7 1/8 x 5 1/2 inches (18 x 14 cm) the portrait of Parr signed "Max" (l.r), with a note below in his hand dated November 1 1943 from Abinger Manor Cottage, Abington Common, Surrey, reading "Dear Mrs Judd. That portrait of The Irreproachable was acquired by The Times. But I have an immoderately good memory for anything that I have drawn; and I beg your acceptance of this revocation of C.P. With all best wishes for the [?] banquet, I am yours very truly, Max Beerbohm." Small chip to the brittle card resulting in a tear with loss just entering the drawn frame at the edge of the drawing, some lightstain and timestain, abrasions to edges from earlier crude framing.
