PAIR OF BLACK-GROUND CLOISONNE JARS AND COVERS

Height 7 1/8 inches (18.1 cm)
Decorated in the round with fruiting pomegranate shrubs, flowering tree peonies, rockwork and long tailed cuckoos. The covers are decorated with a central stylized chrysanthemum surrounded by four stylized peonies. The edges of the covers, mouths and feet are reinforced by copper bands, all of which have been gilded; interiors ungilded.

Flat 1 cm chip at one shoulder of a small bird. Other jar with a few small chips, one deep enough to expose the copper and all filled with colored wax
