Rectangular, the hinged cover applied to one side with a stylized gold bird with white enamel wing, set with a cabochon ruby and emerald and rose-cut diamonds, with an integral vesta compartment and gold-capped tinder cord. Length 4 inches (6.5 cm).

In good condition. Enamel does not fluoresce under UV light. Small line (1/2-inch long) on edge of cover fluoresces under UV light. There are two 1/2-inch hairline cracks to wood between cover and vesta compartment. Some rose cut diamonds missing.
