BARROW, JOHN. An Account of Travels into the Interior of Southern Africa, in the Years 1797 and 1798. London: T. Cadell, 1801-04. Two volumes. Contemporary calf gilt paneled boards with Greek key turn-ins, rebacked to period style, modern endpapers, all edges gilt. 10 3/4 x 8 inches (27 x 20 cm); half-title in volume I only, folding engraved map with partial hand-coloring, 9 other smaller folding maps and plates (some colored); 410 pp., index; 439 pp., index. Some wear to older parts of binding, the map strengthened at folds on verso, some spotting worst at first and last leaves, occasional stray stains to edges and within, contemporary bookplate of Sir Robert D'Arcy, modern bookplate of Vernon S. Ford.
