This window was originally installed in an East 57th Street building in the grand staircase in the lobby. This building was built around 1885 and the window was visible in the lobby until it was subdivided into apartments in the 1930s where a wall was built to cover the window. Before the building was demolished in the 1970s, the wall was removed exposing the window. After decades of remaining unseen, the window still presented in a beautiful light.
