Two works. A bound volume containing approximately sixteen musical works published in New York circa 1800, by Hewitt, Paff, Mrs. Bradish and J. Willson (and with some additional works, not American, published London and elsewhere). The American works (partially listed below) include Pleyel, J. Three Progressive Sonatas for the Piano Forte... New York: J. Hewitt, circa, [1800?]; Martini's Grand Overture to Henry the 4th. New York: J. Hewitt, circa 1801; Kozeluch, Leopold. A favorite duett for two performers on one piano forte, op: XXII. New York: J. Hewitt, [1808]; Stevens, John. Love, my Mary, dwells with thee. Duett. New York: J. Paff, [1810]; Braham, John. The favorite song and duett All's well: from the Celebrated Opera of The English fleet in 1342. New York: J. & M. Paff, [1804]; Braham, John. The Love Letter... New York: J. & M. Paff, [1807-08?] etc. American calf-backed marbled boards. 12 5/8 x 9 1/4 inches (32 x 24 cm). Some wear and foxing, occasional minor staining; together with The "Blonde" of the Period Songster. New York: Robert M. De Witt, (1869). Publisher's hand-colored wrappers. 6 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches (16.5 x 11 cm); 192, [16] pp. ads. Covers somewhat worn, contents a bit dogeared, occasional pale staining.

American sheet music of the early 19th century is typically rare; most of the works in the first volume are recorded in one or two copies only. The second item, the songster, has not been at auction since 1902 (and that example was rebound).
