Canvas is relined; frame abrasion with associated wear to the edges; minor stretcher impressions; scattered areas of craquelure; few small areas of inpainting mostly in the sky toward the edges and to the water at center right.

Property of a Lady includes a languid 1889 view of dahabiyas sailing on the Nile by American artist and designer Lockwood de Forest (1850-1932) and French artist Jean Julien Lemordant's (1882-1968) Against the Wind, a depiction of figures on a windswept beach. Bastille Day by Maurice Brianchon (1899-1979) presents a colorful, flag-draped street decorated for the Fête nationale française.
