The upper half of the verso of the second page inset to a card panel (formerly in an album?), a few discreet repairs at folds, the ink dark and the signature large and bold.
In early 1795, Revolutionary War General Henry Knox left government and settled permanently in Maine. This letter regards passage to Boston and the signing of some money orders: "I value my sacrifice essential to the payment of these orders - my credit and prosperity in this country depends on it."
