WELLS, H.[ERBERT] G.[EORGE]
Autograph letter signed by Wells; recipient unknown. The letter is written on stationery headed 614, St. Ermins, Westminster SW1 (probably the St. Ermins Hotel, the restaurant of which was a favorite haunt of Wells) in black ink, dated June 7 [19]29. 9 x 7 inches (23 x 18 cm), single sheet, written on one side only. 10 lines, plus salutation and felicitation. Minor thinning at one spot on the rear of the sheet (from mounting?), folded for mailing.
Wells mentions the forthcoming publication of Science of Life by Julian Huxley and himself, and his opinion that the positions of Mallock [W. H. Mallock] are "outflanked by modern biological thought." Sold with a watercolor portrait of Wells by Leonore Knight.
