MILNE, A.A. and SHEPARD, E.H.
Winnie-the-Pooh. London: Methuen, [1926]. First English trade edition. Publisher's green gilt stamped cloth, in the original first issue dust jacket (with the requisite "117th thousand" designation for When We Were Very Young on the rear flap). 7 3/8 x 5 inches (18.75 x 12.5 cm); xvi, 158 pp., illustrations after Shepard. The jacket quite fresh and unrestored, but for a one-inch clean tear to the upper left corner of the front panel, minute fading to the spine, in all a fine example; the cloth generally bright. Minor offsetting to the map endpapers from the adhesive of the boards, as is often the case.
