The auction will be held at Doyle Charleston located at 123 King Street and livestreamed on Doyle.com. Featured in the sale are over 100 lots of silver, furniture and copperware from a Prominent Downtown Charleston Estate (View Lots).

Charleston Furniture
Highlighting the furniture from a Prominent Downtown Charleston Estate is a late 18th/early 19th century Charleston Federal inlaid mahogany full tester "rice" bed. The carving on the front bedposts of this impressive bed relates to an example illustrated in Charleston Furniture by E. Milby Burton (lot 101). A 1790s Federal string inlaid mahogany pembroke table displays decoration favored by Charleston cabinetmakers, as seen in a similar table in Charleston Furniture (lot 100). A 1790s Federal plum pudding mahogany work table is related in style and decoration to two tables with Charleston history recorded by the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (lot 91).

Charleston Silver
Certain to attract attention is a selection of silver by 18th and 19th century Charleston silversmiths from a Prominent Downtown Charleston Estate. Several lots of silver flatware feature examples by Thomas You (1753-1786) (lot 90), Louis Boudo (1786-1827) (lot 89), James Emmons Spear (1817-1871) (lot 86), and others (lot 87). Also noteworthy are an 1840s silver cream jug by Gale & Hayden (lot 88) and a silver christening mug by Augustus Henry Hayden (1817-1894) inscribed to Mathurin Guerin Ball (b. 1869), the son of William James Ball and Mary Huger Gibbs, members of long‑established Charleston families (lot 85).

Georgian Silver
Property from a Downtown Charleston Estate offers over 45 lots of silver by some of the most prominent London silversmiths of the Georgian era. Among the numerous highlights are a George II salver by Edward Wakelin, 1750 (lot 20); a set of four George III candlesticks by Emrick Romer, 1761 (lot 22); a George III covered soup tureen by William Pitts, 1786 (lot 28); a George III epergne by Henry Chawner, 1792 (lot 50); a George II kettle on stand by Philip Goddard, 1753 (lot 18); a George III tea caddy set by Samuel Taylor, 1762 (lot 21); and a set of six George III soup plates by Paul Storr, 1812 (lot 58).

Jewelry
The jewelry section of the sale features a selection of sparkling diamond rings, gold jewelry, and stylish designs by Tiffany & Co., Ilias Lalaounis, Temple St. Clair, and other makers.
