The International Best Dressed List: The Official Story

Amy Fine Collins presents the complete history of the International Best-Dressed List (IBDL) launched in 1940 by “Godmother of Fashion," Eleanor Lambert. The List has long been considered the ultimate barometer of style and the highest honor a sartorial savant can receive. Amy Fine Collins shares her encyclopedic knowledge and countless entertaining anecdotes about the behind-the-scenes selection process, the vibrant personalities of the chosen, and the zeitgeist of the times. This sumptuous volume is a who's who of the most glamorous men and women around the world, the ultimate treasury of fashion inspiration.

Amy Fine Collins, a Special Correspondent at Vanity Fair for 25 years, is a writer and Editor at Large at Air Mail as well as Contributing Editor (New York) at World of Interiors. In 2002, Eleanor Lambert named Amy Fine Collins, an IBDL Hall-of-Famer, as one of four fashion insiders to carry forward the official International Best-Dressed List.

Holiday: The Best Travel Magazine that Ever Was

Pamela Fiori looks back at magazine sensation Holiday, which between 1946 and 1977 was one of the most exciting publications in the world. Renowned for its bold layouts, literary credibility, and ambitious choice of photographers and artists, Holiday portrayed the romance of travel like no other periodical. At Holiday magazine's peak, urbane editor, Ted Patrick, and visionary art director, Frank Zachary, invited postwar America to see and read about the world. Pamela Fiori’s fascinating book explores the magazine's history, spanning the era of the jet age, world turbulence, and the rise of Madison Avenue advertising.

Pamela Fiori began her publishing career at Holiday magazine in 1968, later becoming editor-in-chief of Travel+Leisure and Town & Country. She has authored and contributed to numerous books on travel and social history, including A Table at Le Cirque (Rizzoli).
