Alfonso A. Ossorio, the Philippines-born abstract expressionist artist, produced this series of drawings while in failing health, during two hospitalizations. Given some markers and watercolor paper, he produced the series of drawings reproduced here. He died on the last day of the second period in hospital, making this a remarkable and literal testament to his work. The drawings are vivid and powerful expressions of an artist who seems to have been fully aware of his imminent mortality.
