Publisher's red pictorial cloth, in the rare printed dust jackets, top edges gilt. 9 3/4 x 6 inches (24.5 x 15.5 cm); xii, 298 pp.; xii, 304 pp. with 3 maps and numerous plates, several to a sheet, carefully engraved from the author's original paintings. A bright set in the rare jackets (these with a few slight chips, but generally in a good state of preservation). Some occasional underlining noted, especially in the second volume.
