BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN TRUNCATED YUHUCHUNPING IN OTTOMAN SILVER MOUNTS
The porcelain early 15th century
Height of porcelain 10 5/8 inches (27 cm); height overall 15 1/4 inches (38.7 cm)
The main body is decorated in the round with continuous peony scrolls between lappet bands with inward pointing leaves above a fretwork band encircling the foot. Above the upper lappet band is a narrow collar of peony scrolls. Fitted with repousse silver mouth and domed cover.

CONDITION:
Mouth broken, ground off and fitted with silver mounts; long triangular chip (3.8 x 2.5 x 2 cm) off the bottom of the foot and discolored age cracks in the glaze throughout
The style of the porcelain and the quality of the Ottoman silver mounts would suggest the Topkapi Saray as its origin.
