Document signed ("Charles R"). Single sheet, 7 1/4 x 6 7/8 inches (18 x 17 cm); dated December 2, 1669 at Whitehall. Royal signature at top right, nine lines of text in a secretarial hand, addressed "For our commissioner" below that. Folding creases, slight soiling. Not examined out of frame.
A warrant signed by the King as head of the Anglican Church, stating his expectation that the Archbishop of Glasgow (then Alexander Burnet) will resign his post. This he duly did, and Robert Leighton was appointed in his stead.
