The hinged rectangular top opening to a later tole liner, the molded case raised on ring-turned legs joined by stretchers; the underside with chalked inscription: SCHL....ER X WOLSEY E8538. Height 20 1/2 inches (52 cm), width 18 inches (45.7 cm), depth 15 1/2 inches (39.4 cm).

Restored condition, now with shiny varnish, age cracks to top and sides, later supports to underside of lid, formerly with supports along the edges, age cracks to legs, worm damage to one stretcher and one foot, old marks and scratches, lock later.
