The pierced serpentine cresting centered by an eagle above a cut-velvet upholstered padded back, seat and arms, the serpentine seat rail carved with a shell, raised on flowerhead-carved cabriole legs. Height 36 1/2 inches (92.7 cm), width 23 inches (58.5 cm), depth 19 inches (48.2 cm).

Originally painted or gilded and with traces of gesso or paint to crevices, condition commensurate with age and use, slight variations to carving of each, old marks and scratches, old worm damage, scuffs to legs and feet, now with shiny varnish.
