Esther scroll. Jerusalem?: early 20th century? Illustrated manuscript on vellum housed in a contemporary silver case. 2 x approximately 62 inches (5 cm x 2 meters); written on five membranes, 15 lines arranged in 29 columns, written in a minuscule Hebrew script, the text within architectonic ornaments drawn in ink. The case contemporary or near-contemporary, engraved in the style of the Bezalel Academy, with faux-turquoise beads on the cap, the case with handle measuring 5 1/8 inches (13 cm). About fine, tarnish and light wear to case.
The manuscript delicately written in sepia ink, with red brachot at the beginning and later black taggin "according to levi itzhak berditchev;" the scribe identified as Tzabar HaLevi.
