Stated first printing, inscribed "Isak Dinesen/Tania/With love and friendship/New York 1959" (a card laid in reports the recipient was Monroe Wheeler, the recipient of the Beaton photograph in this section) Publisher's cloth in original dust jacket, housed in a custom half morocco box. 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (22 x 15 cm); 341. The recipient has checked in ink one story on the contents leaf and made a neat ink notation to the final blank, this handwriting matching that on the verso of the Beaton photograph offered in this section, otherwise a fine copy in a fine jacket.
Inscribed books by Dinesen are quite scarce.
