BLIXEN, KAREN [DINESEN, ISAK]
Two letters signed in English regarding her first book
. The first a 2 pp. autograph letter signed "Tania Blixen" dated 9 June 1933 to [Bertram] Higgins reporting that she has been ill, is now in England and would appreciate a visit, and that she would be "very glad and thankful to hear your advice about this book of mine..." 10 x 8 inches (26 x 20 cm). Folds, some stains; The second a 2 page typed letter again to Higgins, dated 27 March 1934, signed "Tania Blixen" and with the manuscript postscript "As an author I am very strictly Isak Dinesen." The letter largely regards her first book Seven Gothic Tales which Dinesen reports is coming out the following month and requesting that he write a review. Dinesen further reports that she has been reading proofs while in the hospital and requests he supply her a list of books to read. 9 7/8 x 6 1/2 inches (25.5 x 17 c,). Splits to folds tissue repaired on verso affecting signatures; Together with a 1952 typed letter signed "Karen Blixen Finecke" in Danish to a Mr. Kronquist suggesting that certain guests should come visit her in Denmark in May when her home looks best. Crude repair, loss to left edge.
Rare Dinesen correspondence regarding her first book, including one letter signed as both Tania Blixen and Isak Dinesen.
