Contemporary tan diced russia, all edges marbled. 10 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches (27 x 21.5 cm); viii, [20], 261, [7], *145, [1] pp., with 42 engraved plates, maps and plans (one unnumbered), which includes six hand-colored aquatint plates and six folding hand-colored maps and plans, one (number 24) with overslip. Front and rear joints cracked, spine defective with loss, a few minor defects at plate folds, minor toning, but overall internally clean and sound.
According to Abbey, this is the second edition, and the first was published in 1801; this appears to be an error, though there was a second edition of 1803. Abbey Travel 266; Atabey 1317.
