Customs House Statues...Produce Exchange Building, 2 Broadway, Manhattan, 1936. Vintage gelatin silver print, 8 x 9 7/8 inches (202 x 252 mm), verso signed by Abbott, with the Federal Art Project stamp, completed in pencil as usual.
The treatment of the statue at center is reminiscent of the work of Atget. Abbott, of course, introduced Atget to the U.S., and printed from his negatives.
